How long does it take to get started using the Americana Payroll Company service?

Because we know every business owner is very busy, we try to make the changeover as painless and take as little time as possible. Typically, we need only an hour or two (depending on the number of questions) with the person who normally does the payroll for your company. (If you are using another service bureau, we would talk to the person that normally submits payroll data to them.) Our staff will use your current records and reports to setup your current employees on our system after our initial meeting. Thus, the only time we need from you is the time spent during the initial meeting where you fill out our new client paperwork, provide us with copies of your existing payroll reports, and tells us about any special payroll processing requirements and reports you need. How long until Americana Payroll Company can process my first payroll?

Depending on the size of your company, we can normally start processing payroll for you within 24 - 48 hours after you provide us with all requested information. If your company has a large number of employees, it may take up to 1 week for us to accurately and completely enter all payroll information into our system. At the conclusion of our service startup consultation, we will be able to tell you exactly how long it will take before we are able to start processing your payrolls. (Return to FAQ List)

What’s involved in switching from another payroll service bureau to Americana Payroll Company?

Switching from on payroll company to another is as simple as switching your long distance phone service. You simple tell us that you want us to process your payroll and provide us with the most recent reports you received from your old payroll company and we do the rest. While entering your company’s data into our system, we normally do a quick audit and will let you know of any discrepancies we find. (Return to FAQ List)

Does Americana Payroll Company require that I sign a contract?

There is no contract unless you wish to have one. Most of our clients have been with us for many years. We feel we don’t need a contract to keep you as a client. After you experience our excellent customer service and see the low cost of having us process your payroll, you will agree (with our other clients) that we are simply the best in the industry. When can I pick up my company’s payroll?

Your company’s payroll will normally be ready within 24 hours after you submit your time sheets to Americana Payroll Company. (Payrolls submitted the day before a holiday or weekend will be ready the first business day following the holiday or weekend.) Be sure to submit your payroll information at LEAST 48 hours prior to the check date if your employees have direct deposit. Funds deposited into an employee’s account by direct deposit are available 48 hours after we submit the direct deposit transaction to the Federal Reserve system. We will call or e-mail your company’s payroll totals to you after we process and assemble your payroll. However, feel free to call us to check the status of your payroll anytime after you submit your information to us. (Return to FAQ List)

Can we still get payroll checks signed if the normal check signer is out at the end of a pay period?

If you provide us a copy of the authorized signature for your payroll account, we can sign checks for you. If you want, we can insert and seal the paychecks within individual envelopes for each of your employees, and we will deliver the payroll reports to you in a separate, sealed envelope. By sealing checks within envelopes, you can designate someone other than the (absent) check signer to distribute the paychecks without the person having access to sensitive payroll information. You can stay on the check signing and stuffing service for as long as you want. Simply notify us when you want to start or stop the service prior to our processing your payroll for a particular pay period. (Return to FAQ List)

Will Americana Payroll Company customize its services to meet the unique payroll needs of my company?

In a word--YES! Our payroll service is completely flexible. Unlike our larger competitors, we don’t force your company to conform to our system. We will work with you to identify those areas where your company requires special handling and adapt our system to provide you with the payroll solution you need. In addition to working with you on scheduling your payroll information submittal and processed payroll delivery, we can also create any customized reports you need. Just let us know and our customer support staff or in-house software development team will make it happen. (Return to FAQ List)
